Castone Construction partnered with Garrison Brewing to reimagine the historic Oxford Theatre into a dynamic mixed-use destination on Quinpool Road, Halifax. The redevelopment created the two-level Oxford Taproom with an upgraded patio for year-round hospitality, along with East Peak Climbing in the former theatre space. Preserving key heritage elements like the original entrance and ceiling, our team delivered a complex structural retrofit that included excavating below the existing floor to achieve climbing heights of up to 47 feet. Today, East Peak features 6,059 sq ft of roped climbing and approximately 600 sq ft of bouldering, plus a mezzanine fitness area and integrated original brickwork. Next door, the Oxford Taproom blends historic character with a modern guest experience, including a retail shop, bar, second-level lounge, and signature theatre-era details such as the restored projector and a vintage Triumph motorcycle.
